iNSAKA

A NETWORK OF IDEAS

"Insaka" is a Bemba word for "place to gather". An Insaka is a structure which is similar in western thought to a gazebo. In Zambia these structures have significant roles in social, economic and cultural life in a traditional village setting.

 

An Insaka signifies a gathering place in which discussion and discourse takes place with the purpose of finding communally beneficial solutions. Thus, a Network of Ideas prevail in an Insaka.
